The Clinic for Haematology and Haematopoietic Stem-Cell Transplantation at University Clinical Centre Tuzla has reported its 219th haematopoietic stem-cell transplant. The allogeneic procedure was performed on 28 September 2026 for a patient with a rare and aggressive form of leukaemia, with the patient's fully matched sister acting as donor.
Allogeneic transplantation is a complex, long-term process involving not only haematology specialists and clinic staff but also teams in transfusion medicine, immunology, genetics, microbiology, pathology, radiology, laboratory medicine, pharmacology and hospital pharmacy.
UKC Tuzla says the programme has operated continuously since 2004. Transplant eligibility is determined only after individual specialist assessment and testing; this informational article is not a recommendation for any particular treatment.
